Logic Pro how to capture audio from headphone jack input

I know this works because I've done it before. Now if I set input to
preferences.png
in the audio preferences in Logic and im my main sound preferences on my macbook i set
line-in.png
to line in I can get the sound to go through and come out my speakers, but when I go to record it in Logic, there's nothing there.

I'm trying to capture sound from a cassette recorder.

Any ideas?
Greg

Did you select the input on the Channel Strip? See attachment.
Do you see meter activity in Logic as the sound is passing through?

Cassette out (headphone?) into Mac line in. (input)
Select the input on the Logic Channel Strip.

Thanks CSeye, I'm not sure about that. I did get it to work though, but I'm not sure ...

The thing I did differently was used a different cable to connect them. I was using a headphone to headphone with a converter to guitar jack on one end. (the output from cassette is guitar jack). I had a different one at home which I think from memory is a cable which has headphone at one end and guitar jack at the other end. Not sure if this was the factor that made it work though. But I'm glad its' working!
