Logic Pro 7 & earlier How to change midi pitch

Can anyone please tell me how I can change midi pitch in small increments ie
I have an audio track recorded which is between A and A# I want to play midi along with it.
I don't want to correct the pitch on tha audio track.

I have recorded a region and adding a new pitchbend number and this works partly, the problem is that if I play from the middle of the region it does'nt work, only if I start from the beginning which is not of much use.

Use the pitch shifter plugin and set to 100% mix

EDIT: but I think pitch bend should work from anywhere. Project settings> MIDI > chase.

Make sure pitch bend is ticked.

Pitch the software instrument if possible.

Where did you add a "pitchbend number"? Did you insert a node in HyperDraw? Then insert more nodes at the positions where you want to play from.

Is there a reason why you posted in the "Legacy versions" forum?
Which Logic version do you use?

Sorry if posted in the wrong forum, i'm using Logic 7.

It's too late to re-pitch the audio as I have other real instruments recorded on my HDR's and it means too much work to do a re-record.

I have two Mackie d8b's and two HDR's that the bulk of the work is on, I just use Logic for a few VST instruments.

I'm not aware that Logic 7 has pitch software, but that reminds me, there is a Time Machine which might change pitch?

The Pitchbend number was added in the piano roll, I have tried adding extra numbers along the region and they work except if transport is run say three notes before the new number, then those three notes are at normal pitch and sometimes I get crazy things happening with the other notes!

There IS a time and pitch machine which destructively edits the audio region, its under factory in the audio editor-edit-thats only for audio regions...i didnt pay attention.

Pitch shifter 2 works great as mentioned

Yes it does, so what I said in my post above should be the answer you are looking for. The plugin is called Pitch Shifter 2 and is under the Special submenu of the Logic plugins.

There is also a global tuning setting under Song Settings where you would just tune all the Virtual instruments to the audio.
