Thanks again Eli! I have hit that wall before-the midi in is not on,but the midi out is, doesn't it have to be to send the audio coming from that software track to Bus 3 which is sent to stereo out 1-2. And this morning I will try this way of recording the audio output of one track by sending it through a buss and record enabling the audio channel strip. I may be messing it up by record enabling the software instr. track as well, but if I remember correctky the WIVI plug in is only audible if its' track is record enabled[NOT],I will try several things, but if you already know the answer I will be forever grateful. Glad you didn't get the storm,I remember the north wind in Montreal, I found the underground walking tunnels fantastic for staying out of that wind.
Next day-nothing is being recorded. I set up a track for audio recording it gets input thru a bus from the track being controlled by the Akai midi controller but it records nothing. A second audio track with input from the Mic input of an Edirol UA-25 audio/MIDI interface-which is where the Akai is plugged into[the audio line out, a separate output from the MIDI cables] still no signal reaching the mixer. Tried re doing the aggregate device but even though the device lists the Edirol, the info panel in the MIDI set up shows no check in the box for "device is online". I then installed a new driver for the Edirol but still no audio signal seen in mixer-3 empty takes. I am supposed to record two or three simple melodies with acc. and take them with me to Houston Saturday but it isn't going to happen, apparently. Here is a screen shot of the 3 takes, does their existence mean my recording set up is right but something along the path isn't working? The Edirol output is showing up in the input notes object in the environment so I hope I can assume the driver is working? Now I will go back there and see if I can figure out why the signals there don't reach the tracks[channel strips] there is a cable from the input monitor to the sequencer input.
Later today-added soundflower 2 ch.,to aggregate device-no joy, I don't understand why the faders don't even move on the WIVI channel strip when I play. Normally the meters do move. I just tried logic's level meter and it is getting audio[moving] so where is the break in my recording path?
Could it be that I need to cable the sequencer to the channel strips? All software instruments can be heard so that connection must be OK.Right?
Later today-is it that I am using the I/O instead of the send button? To route the audio from the software instr. track to the bus. It has become too late this evening for my eyes so I will change that tomorrow and see if it helps.
