Logic Pro 9 I have logic 8 and 9 discs. How to install on blank hard drive

I had to replace the hard drive this week and want to reinstall Logic Studio. Previously I had Logic 8 installed and used the 9 discs to update. This time, do I need to install 8 first, or just 9 and put in the serial number for 8? I lost a few instruments from logic 7 when going to 8 last time. I don't know if that can be avoided. I remember it took a long time so I want to do it right.

You can start with Logic 9, should be no problems.
