Hi all,

I am looking for a new decent midi controller to use with Logic 9.

What's the best brand-model for good sequencer (and maybe drum machine pads too ) control programming with lots of controller knobs - sliders etc. with Mac for logic 9?

- 76 keys is what I have now - maybe 61 is ok too (don't need smaller right now)

- I'm not too concerned with weighted keys

are any brands working better than the others
Akai ?
korg?
m-audio?

It might be cliche to recommend what you have but I am really happy with my M-Audio Axiom Pro 49.
It also has bigger versions like this.

The concept is great and it is working nicely with Logic.
Regular Axiom series do NOT have Hypercontrol but the pro versions do.
It is an extra layer of software that does the mapping for you.
As a result, you can see the control ( button, knob, fader ) values and their param names when you turn a knob or move a fader on the devices LCD screen as well as in Logic window.
This helps you to realize what you have just done.

The keyboard feels nice ( even though i am not a piano player ) and the pads are OK.
It may just be what you are looking for.

Novation controllers have automap, however, I like the idea of hypercontrol better. I'm sure people who purchased Novation controllers love their keyboard too but, hypercontrol works perfect with Logic as well.
You just have to download and install Logic-Hypercontrol personality from m-audio website.
