Logic Pro Inheritance of track name

Somehow my recorded audio region names (and the audio file name) are not being inherited by the track name. Rather, they are inheriting the environment "audio" object's name (which is different). This doesn't happen in other logic sessions on the same computer so I'm guessing it's either some obscure setting I'm not aware of that got undone, or it's a bug.

Does anyone know of a setting that determines what name is given to recorded audio regions by default?

And finally, I will add that on the tracks the problem does occur on: Changing the names of these tracks does *not* change the track name in the inspector view. Whereas the tracks that apply their names properly to regions DO change both the track name and the name shown in inspector.
