Logic Pro 9 Installing L9 on new iMac

Hi

has anyone installed L9 et al onto a new iMac with no superdrive. I am considering buying one but not sure what the best way of loading up all the software onto iMac. I would rather do a completely fresh install rather than just stream from my existing mac via USB cable...I thought at first OK just buy an external superdrive but I read there are issues with that too...it would be good to hear from someone who has successfully trodden this path before I make a move.

Grateful for any guidance

The method that logicblog referenced works great.

I first read about it here: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/feb12/articles/apple-notes-0212.htm

My recent system clean install involved installing Logic (no Mainstage or STP) and content in about about 25 minutes.

What issues have you heard about with external optical burners?

I've been using this http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other World Computing/VLSS9TOPTU2/
without any issues for the past several months. There are better but more expensive options as well.

A fresh install of Logic is your best bet.
