Logic Pro 8 Instrument Library Problem!!

I'm a new Logic Express 8 user, and I've recently been having problems with my instrument library.

Specifically: Say I open up a new project using the Instruments template. I'll select the Studio Tight Kit instrument (I'm hooked up to an Axiom 49 midi controller), but instead of drum sounds, I'm hearing something that sounds closer to Seinfeld-theme slap bass. The listed instrument is somehow not corresponding to the sounds being produced. Ugh.

This has somehow happened to most of my instruments, rendering them all but useless. I don't know what to do, or even where to begin. Anybody have any insights?

I would appreciate any help I can get...

-Make sure you are playing the instrument Go to the arranbe window and highlight the instrument wou want to play
-In the channel strip double click on the instrument name to bring up the window for the instrument
-LOOK carefully to find the name of the instrument and you should be able to select which instrument you want to play
