Is My computers Audio Driver going?

Hi Everyone,

I'm using Logic 8 with Mountain Lion and Duet interface. 2GB of RAM. Mac Pro 2 x 2.8 ghz Quad Core. I've just replaced my Hard Drive with a 1 TB drive as the other one was slowing down greatly.

My Logic has been crashing frequently and if it's not crashing, the audio will just cut out completely. Oddly enough, by starting and stopping a small little music player program, it somehow jogs my audio back to life and Logic will start playing again; so i keep that program open and handy when i overload.

I'm not sure if my computer is just getting old (its a 2008) or my Duet is malfunctioning. Sometimes everything will stop, and sometimes the meters on the software will be working fine, and it's just the computers output that isn't functioning properly. I know that I've been taxing it more since purchasing one of Fablesounds great sample programs, but it was doing this before that too.

Any thoughts and suggestions of what to replace or add would help.

Thank you!

Rob
