Logic Pro 9 Issue setting up continuous screen with two displays

I have just started using a second HD 23 display with L9. I can drag over separate windows into the second display no problem, but when trying to extend one window over both displays, the second display brings the window in several inches below the other display, making it impossible to read as a continuous window.
Any help much appreciated!
