Logic Pro 8 key commands not working

hi all. new to this.......my key commands are not working at all. the only way i can access logic controls is click on the window on the screen. i'm using a macbook pro. i have a mac kybd USBd to the macbook, and when mousing/keystroking in other apps, (like safari, for instance) things work fine, but not in logic 8.

also, i just applied editorkeys sticky labels to my kybd, but many commands are incorrect/not functioning. do i have to assign them myself?

any help appreciated.....

thanks,

Open your Key Commands window first:
Logic Pro > Preferences > Key Commands (or use the Open Key Commands key
command, Option-K).

Check that the Key Commands you are trying to use are actually there (the defaults changed in v8). You can easily do this by clicking on the main part of the window (the Command list) - it should be highlighted in blue. Type in a letter or key combo and the resulting command should appear.

You can easily change any or all key commands - check the Logic manual for details. One tip though - save the default set first in case you ever want to get it back. In the Key Commands window, go to [Options] top left and select Export Key Commands. Save this as "Default Set" or whatever.

Hope this helps
