Logic Pro Konakt 8 key command issue

When working with the new version of kontakt (8) I have to mouse click outside of the instrument in order for key commands in Logic to work. Really annoying when trying to playback or record. This also happens with Arturia Pigments. Is there a setting I need to change in Logic or is it a third party issue?
