Hi All,

Have spent hours on this!

Could anyone explain, please, why I have no Sound Library at A, and a very limited set of controls on the channel strip at B.

Many thanks.

Actually I've just read through the notes in the download .pkg:

This Universal Control 3.3.0 Installer will remove any previously installed version of Universal Control AI and AudioBox VSL software.

*NOTE: AudioBox USB is a class compliant audio interface and does not require a special driver in order to function. It works without installing any software, and it will not appear in the Universal Control device browser. It will only appear in Sound Preferences and in Audio MIDI Setup.

**NOTE: Due to changes made by Apple in OS X 10.11 and later, the AudioBox VSL software will no longer function as designed. In order to continue to use the AudioBox 22VSL, 44VSL or 1818VSL on macOS 10.13 (or later), AudioBox VSL software must be completely removed from your computer. The AudioBox VSL software has been discontinued on all platforms, and Universal Control 3.3.0 does not include any VSL software mixing interface for the AudioBox products.

If you desire to use the Audiobox VSL software mixing interface features on OSX 10.8, 10.9 or 10.10, you will need to uninstall Universal Control 3.3.0 using the PreSonus Hardware Uninstaller script included with Universal Control 3.3.0 before proceeding with the re-install of older AudioBox VSL software.

For for more info: AudioBox VSL Software Discontinuation Notice

Products not supported by Universal Control 3.3.0:

  • StudioLive 24.4.2 Classic
  • StudioLive 16.4.2 Classic
  • FireStudio Project
  • FireStudio Mobile
  • FireStudio Lightpipe
  • FireStudio Tube
  • These products must use Universal Control 1.7.6

For more information on how to co-install Universal Control 3.3.0 and Universal Control 1.7.6 products, please visit our knowledge base at: https://support.presonus.com and search the word "co-install"

If installing drivers, a restart of your system will be necessary after installation completes.

NOTE: Universal Control 1.7.6 ends at macOS 10.14 (Mojave).

Don't really understand the implications fully, some passages are a bit scary, so I think it would be safer not to download at this point.

Try letting it run for half a day, it might just sort itself out..

I tried opening Logic this morning at 9.45. by simply clicking on the Logo in my Dock area.
Left it for just over 5 hours but it hadn't opened by a few minutes ago.
So just did a Force Quit then tried to open Logic again in the same way.
Wouldn't open so I had to hold down Control key whilst clicking on the logo.
Logic opened (had to click Don't Launch as below) and Logic opened up.

Managed to select a project from a couple of years ago which has some software tracks:

I guess the orange notations are because there are no instruments loaded up in the Library? So I'm still stuck.

Yes, if you don't load the audio driver (Core Audio), you're still left with external MIDI tracks like in your first post. I'd have to remotely have a look at your computer if that is what you want.
