Line 6 + Logic 9 = Bad News!

Yep, tried that before buying the iLok version. But as far as removing the driver, you can't. It's needed to recognize the dongle functionality of the device. The same is true of the iLok driver, but of course it doesn't freeze your CPU. You are right about the stability of the device over all (plugging it in directly to a USB port), but that has more to do with it being reliable and seen by Core Audio. I quickly realized it had nothing to do with the kernel panics. Thanks for the suggestions though.
