I am running Logic Pro 9 in a Mac Book Pro. On my first initial project, there are 16 tracks of software instruments: 13 of them on Omnisphere, 1 Trillian and 2 RMX. I doubt I have overtaxed the Mac but I keep getting this message with greater frequency: "System Overload. The audio engine was not able to process all required data in time."
I'll click on OK and keep working and after about 5 - 10 of these false starts, things return to relative normalcy and I can record a new track or edit. But it is quite frustrating.
I went to check for software updates for the Mac and the 3 updates that needed to be loaded started to count UP time not countdown for new update installation. Never saw that before. It was up to 64 hours for "Lion Recovery." So perhaps this is the cause of the crash.
The other issue has to do with inserting a tempo change. When I inserted a tempo change there is an audible sound -- a glitch like a midi feedback loop or something that occurs at the precise moment Logic processes the command to up the temp from 54 to 124 bpm. I have also notified Spectra tech support about this in the event there may be a bug for tempo changing and their midi functionality for Omnisphere (the sound only happens in that instrument in no others and it occurs across all 13 instances of it when I solo the channels.
Suggestions? Help ?
