Logic Pro 9 Logic 9 in Mavericks?

I just had to rebuild my iMac with a new drive etc...In reloading Logic Pro 9.1, it says it can't run on Mavericks? Is there anything I can do without buying the X upgrade? Help!!
Thanks.

Strange, I've certainly got it running on a mavericks machine here (Logic 9.1.2) with the latest version, although I may have installed logic before updating. Hopefully someone here has a cunning solution/workaround!

Hello and thanks for the reply. I love this forum! The gods smiled on me and when I woke up this morning, Logic was magically installed and ready to go.....yes! I actually just shut down the iMac, and went to bed, which must have solved the problem. Thanks again and let's hope all problems work themselves out this way!
Peace.

Good to hear. LP 9.12.8 works fine here under Mavericks, although I have completely transitioned to LP X except to help clients who are still on LP 9.

LP X

Hey Jay -
Are you digging' LP X? It looks great. I've recently had to get Pro Tools for the purposes of playing well with others and I have to say it really pales in comparison to LP for composition and overall user friendliness. I use Nuendo a lot for post work, which I like as well. But LP is my fav!

Every time there is a major update of Logic Pro, there are things gained and things lost IMHO Jabo.

For me, the gains of LP X greatly outweigh the losses.

Yes. The preference that allowed you to switch from Faster (Remote Channel Strips) which made soloing and muting instantaneous but took away the ability to solo/mute tracks flowing through the same channel strip to CPU Saving (Slower Response) which takes a fraction of a second for tracks to solo/mute but allows discrete track soloing/muting is gone.

Now you have to click the power buttons on/off to achieve it. Not happy bout that.

Also, key focus is now a bigger issue. You cannot grab a fader in the Inspector and press a key command for the Main (Arrange) Window and have it work unless you click in the Main Window's workspace first.

Not deal breakers but areas of regress rather than progress in my view.
