it says Intel only - any beta testers on here who might be able to comment if this is recommended or required? My G5 is still my main studio computer...

Who knows, maybe there will be a maintenance upgrade for version 8.

This looks really good. Does any one know if there is also pitch correction a-la Melodyne?
...Seems like they're really targeting guitar-based musician with so much of the Logic announcement page showing off the guitar effects & amp simulators...
Wonder if there are any bells & whistles with the synth plugs or are they same as before?
Regarding the Intel only limitation, I think that the bad news is that the Node software will support Intel only, too bad, I was counting to keep my Duel G5 as a Node.
Honestly, I don't have a PowerPC based Mac anymore, so I'm not sure if it will boot up or not. But if they say "Intel only" that implies one of two things:
1) The program only comes with an Intel installer. Therefore, there is no PowerPC version to install.
2) It will install on a PowerPC machine, but some features in there won't work.

...or:
3) It will install and run on a PowerPC Mac, but Apple doesn't want to support that officially for some reason...
my quad G5 is my main studio computer as well. i'm not gonna buy a new mac desktop just for logic 9.
pretty lame for apple to do this. my PPC machine is not anywhere near needing an upgrade.

Did you know that pointing is a big insult in Chinese culture? Here it's a non-issue. And spitting on somebody here is a big insult... but quite the opposite on Arrakis (but make sure the receiver is wearing a stillsuit).
