Logic Pro 9 Logic 9 on G5

Anyone having real success running Logic 9.02 on a G5? I am using Logic 8 and would love to use the flex tool to edit drum tracks. My G5 runs like a beast (in a good kind of way) and am not going to get rid of it that easy.

I use Logic 9 on a G5 quad core. You need to upgrade to Leopard, though. There are a few things that will not install. The main Logic program installs, but not some of the video related stuff, can't exactly remember which. It will be grayed out.

I am sure the people with the Intel CPUs can't figure out why anyone would want to miss out on all the subsequent bug fixes, but 9.02 has been stable for what I have been doing. Once the royalty checks start rolling in I will be tempted to get a "Mayhem" processor.

I have used Logic 9 on a dual G5 (2.3) since day one and there have been no problems. I noticed that 9 was a little harder on the CPU when I first installed it. It's not much but if you have a song that is just on the verge of being too much in 8 it probably won't run in 9.
Personally I have moved to the new ProMacs, it's ordered and shipped but not here yet (27th at the lastest). In my particular case it was just too annoying that all the new upgrades (for Logic as well as many plugins) were for Snow Leopard, and it did also get a little slow.
I mainly record bands so CPU is not so much an issue but the "sudden death issue" (white noise suddenly more or less exploding out of the speakers) forced me to take the latency up to 256 which is very irritating when having been able to run in 128 for over five years.
That and me knowing that all users of the newer Macs (who use fast soundcards) can record 24 tracks at one time with a 64 buffer just left me no alternative and actually I should probably have made the move with the former generation of MacPros but I was too cheap.
Before investing in Leopard you should really consider that many G5 users have experienced that their motherboard breaks down and is basically beyond repair (it quite expensive). I just mean that even the smallest new Mac is way faster than the G5s and you may be taking a risk by putting money into the system.
My G5 has served me incredibly well, I have used it for almost six years which is way beyond anything I have ever experienced before.
