Logic Pro 9 Logic 9 strange midi activity issue

Hi all!
I have an ESI midi router, a korg triton and some hw synths connected via midi to the computer setup in the signature and this occurs in logic:
- when clicking on record button in transport, logic sends a fixed midi on info to my gear. No midi channels are present in the project, only audio.
- when selecting a loop region up in the timeline bar and activate it (clicking on it and turning green), also midi note on is going to my gear.
- the audio volume faders in the mixer also are sending midi info to my gear.

This is what i have found so far, but maybe there are a lot of other functions that act the same...
Searched the help, tutorials on midi, setting up various configs in logic prefs, but with no result...

I have search a lot of other forums and no answer found. Hope to get one here.
Best regards!
Alex

That alpha track is the issue. Have the same issue with my Faderport: send out either a really high or really low note when play is selected.

Double check the setup instructions, I was able to have my faderport stop doing that.

also, check prefs> general>midi>sync
Click on the bottom pill 'midi sync project settings...'
in the new window check the midi tab, to make sure no funky sync MMC stuff is getting shot out. Unitor tab too.
Good luck

Could you please post a screen capture of your Control Surface Setup window.
Sometimes when connecting MIDI gears, Logic interpretes incoming MIDI data as MIDI controller messages and installs unduly a generic controller in there, which messes up MIDI data flow, causing bizarreries as those you describe.

I am on a little vacation right now. As soon as i get back to the studio i will post a print screen and try to figure out what's what with the faderport. Thank you all for the input!

I finally found it!

It was the alphatrack output and input ports. I narrowed the comunication only on the alphatrack port, and no midi activity occurs now on the ESI patch bay.

Thank you all very much again!

L.E. the midi port in the screenshot is set to 8 during the testing. After that, i set it on port1 on the alpha track.
