I'm using Logic Audio 5.5 on a Windows XP computer. Today I replaced my old Audigy II card with a Xonar XD card, and I've got a problem. Logic Audio detects the new card in the audio driver window (PC AV and Wave player boxes), but makes midi sound using Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth, which doesn't sound any good. A second alternative (MPU-401) produces no sound at all.
Now I wonder: 1. Doesn't the Xonar XD play midi music? or, 2. Is LA 5.5 too old for this card?, or 3. Have I overlooked something in the audio driver window? Hopefully someone out there knows the answer.
