Logic Pro LOGIC PRO - NEWBIE NEEDS HELP

Sorry if I'm posting this to the wrong section but this is my first "thread post" ever...on any site...so I'm a bit lost in all this. Anyway, I am running Logic Pro X on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15 inch, Mid 2015) and I am experiencing some difficulties. I have found a drum part that I would like to use in a recording (Darcy...Clockwise). I've played it successfully a couple times and so I "looped" it to fill out the section. Now when I play it back the playhead stops in the middle of the first bar, then goes back to the beginning and keeps doing this. While that is happening, I get a weird static sound and the meters go into the red clipping zone. I have not created any other tracks so this is the only track in use. Sounds like a hardware issue but I have no idea where to look. Anyone experience this before?

The simplest explanation is that you have the transport set to loop between the start of the sequence, and the start of the 3rd bar of the first measure. It would probably help if you posted a screen shot.

Thank you both for responding! It was the "cycle" bar that was on an I didn't notice it. Once I clicked it off, it ran fine.
