I have an M-Audio Fast Track C400 (latest drivers). I'm using AKG Q701 headphones to monitor (and yes I know that speakers are much better but I have a wife and 2 small children who don't appreciate hearing what I'm messing around with at 1AM). I'm struggling to get the volume loud enough out of Logic. I have the headphone knob turned to maximum and still find it kind of quiet. If I switch over to iTunes then everything is nice and loud so that tells me that the behaviour is isolated to the relationship between the C400 and Logic. Both my output and Master levels are at a healthy setting of 0.0. If I push them anymore I start to see clipping (in the red). So the question is, how do I get more volume out of Logic without actually affecting the levels of my track? Have I set something up the wrong way? Is there a magical switch? Someone suggested Adaptive Limiter but that actually affects the levels of the track which I don't need as the volume is fine if I listen to it through speakers.
I would appreciate any help because I just got these headphones yesterday and this low volume issue is kind of sucking all of the fun out of it.
