Logic Studio apps Loopback via Midi Footcontroller?

Dear Musicians,

I have been trying for a while on finding a solution to start/stop the loopback PlugIn within Mainstage via an external Midi Foot Controller. I was not very successful. Is it just possible with apogge hardware?

If anybody found out how to involve an external midi controller I would be very happy. I like to use it for improvisation training, building small vamps etc.

Like any other control. You make a button in layout mode, learn the MIDI message, go to edit mode and map the button to Start/Stop of the looper. Where is the problem?
