Logic Pro 9 MacBook CPU load

When running Logic Pro on my MacBook the CPU bar idles at 50% with no other programs running in the background. Once I load a guitar patch (e.g. Brown sound) it goes off the scale.

Does that happen to anyone else?

What is the exact model of Mac Book do you have and how much ram do you have in it?

If it is an older G5 based model, this might be normal, if you have no ram this might be normal, so it really depends on a few things.
