A friend has just bought the current MacMini server with 2 x 500 GB HD with the OWC 16 GB Ram kit. He's complained about it getting quite noisy. He's kept the Lion server OS rather than do a clean install of Lion. I The fans kicking in probably have to do with keeping the 2 hard drives cool when they start working. Maybe he has a lemon...??
I'd like to get the MacMini server to use as a Vienna Ensemble Pro host machine. I'm waiting for the new model to come out this summer before making the move.
