Logic Studio apps Mainstage 2 Loopback

Hey guys, this is my first thread. I'm a brand new member and looking forward to this. I'm gearing up to really sink my teeth into Logic Studio, learning from you all and sharing what I know.

I'm a bass player and also use a 25 key Novation SL ReMOTE onstage. I currently use Reason for key sounds. I'm thinking about switching to Mainstage. Once I get the program down and experience enough functionality I'll upgrade my G4 laptop to use it onstage with me.

I noticed they have a sweet guitar amp plugin, WHAT ABOUT US BASS PLAYERS? Everyone forgets the bass player! We want cool stuff too!?

Anyways:
Here's what I'm currently dealing with...
I was getting ready to purchase a Boss RC-50 Looper when Logic announced the release of Logic 9 and Mainstage 2 with Loop functionality. So I made the decision to upgrade instead. I've been playing around with it but can't seem to get it to function very well. Did I make a mistake? Please someone tell me you have a sweet solution on how to best set things up? I'm kicking myself a little bit especially because the upgrade has outdated my G4. Here's my current Mainstage 2 file if you wanna take a look at my attempt.

I use a custom template via MIDI from my SL 61 so don't expect the mapping to function correctly. If you have a ReMOTE SL I'd be happy to make the keyboard template available. It's sort of a work in progress at this point.

I've looked everywhere online and there's almost no documentation or suggestions on how to make the best use of the Loopback plugin anywhere, including here... HELP?

True. There is only one bass amp in the Amp Designer (assumed that you call a Bassman still a bass amp). And the mediocre bass amp we know from Logic 8.

I use Mainstage also with bass but I am addicted to effects rather than typical bass sound. However, you need a good signal from the bass. Instrument inputs of audio interfaces are usually not very good for that. I have a Sansamp RBI in front, in parallel to a Rocktron Blue Thunder. This gives me a palette of good bass sounds and effects. And I add software effects.

With a good input signal you can get a phantastic sound out of Mainstage but it is not THE bass amp sound. It's a more hi-fidelity full range sound. For the real amp sound I think you have still to use a real amp after Mainstage.

Others can certainly tell more about the built-in looper, but I cannot handle it properly. I believe that the current Mainstage looper cannot replace good hardware or good software solutions. This is a personal impression of a none-looper though, maybe I am just too unskilled to use it.

Yes. You are supposed to go for an Intel machine. Preferably 64 Bit capable because the Snow Leopard has left his cage and starts chasing us through the Apple forest ...

I would love to but I'm on holiday and have no Mainstage here 😎

Loopback?

I've just got my hands on MS2 and this feature has yet to come to my attention but it sounds intriguing.

-EDIT-
Just had a rummage and found it - an effects plug-in.
Haven't the foggiest how to use it yet though, sorry.
