Logic Studio apps Mainstage - Audio & Midi simultaneously

I sometimes use Mainstage (version 1) in a band, running a keyboard controller through midi for soft instruments etc.

I'd like to use the audio channels as well...singer through vocal fx etc. I seem to be able to one or the other but not have them north activated simultaneously. I understand there are different windows...'edit' and so on.

Any advice greatly appreciated. I am pretty clued up with Logic but this is foxing me.

I could only confirm that it is possible with v.2, as I don't use (or know) v.1 of MainStage...
In v.2, you would have to create an Audio channel strip for your audio and create an External Instrument channel strip for your hardware synths and create a Software Instrument channel strip for your plugins...
