Logic Studio apps Metronome Output

Hello everybody.. First of all, many thanks for this forum.. your answers saved my life more than once! 🙂
Here is my question:
I'm using a MacBookPro and an Mbox2 Mini. When using Playbacks, metronome plays through the Mbox output with the Playback, altogether (I can't send JUST the metronome to the In-ears, because my Mbox only has 1-2 Output).
But the thing is... could I possibly play all the audio (software instruments, playback tracks...) through the Mbox 1-2 Output, and play the metronome through the speakers of the computer? So then I'd just have to plug the In-ears to the computer to hear the metronome... is that possible?

Yes it is. You need to create an aggregate audio device, which will be seen in Logic's audio preferences as one audio interface but with the I/O of all the deivices you included in it. To create an aggregate audio device, use Audio Midi Setup, which resides in Applications->Utilities.

As Mark mentioned, you might be able to do this if you can create an aggregate device in Audio MIDI Setup use the mbox and the system audio. However, my memory says PT devices don't aggregate.

Should this work, you need to create an instance of UltraBeat and assign its output to the system audio and use it for a metronome. If you don't know how to set up UltraBeat for this, search the web as it's explained elsewhere (or post back here if you can't find anything).

You could also go mono out. Left channel music, right channel click. Still would need to use UltraBeat as a metronome.

I think Klopfgeist is no longer available in MS 2

Still would need to use UltraBeat as a metronome.

I did it as Markdvc said and it worked without using UltraBeat. But using it could be a good idea, so you can create your own metronome (MainStage's metronome sucks..)

Had forgotten the metronome was routable in preferences. I've dealt so much with stereo interfaces with people and the fact that it is not assignable to a single side of a stereo channel.

I also thought PT interfaces couldn't be part of an aggregate device.

So much for the best answer ever award.......🙁

But I'll keep trying!

I route MS metronome to the headphone out (after making it 'out 3-4') on my Yamaha G044 audio i/f and agree, it isn't the best but I've found it seems to use less CPU than another instance of UB.

To get around this I've created an aux, outputing to 3-4 and and sens on all of my Playback tracks and UB, so I can blend the metronome with this in headphones for the drummer.
