Logic Pro 8 MIDI CC editing glitch..

DSP Hungry

Hello.. I am recording a Yamaha AN1X as MIDI data. I can record and play as well as record and play midi controller info. I am modulating the FM amount and can't get Logic let me view the data as automation lines or in the Hyper editor. When I select the CC data in the event list and tell a hyper editor to define an event it's just small lines?

The data does play back as I said and I want to edit it now. I think I might try mapping this parameter to the synths control knobs and re-recording.
Any thought would rule!

There are two methods of automation in Logic: region based automation (RBA) and track based automation (TBA). TBA can only handle channelstrip parameters and plugin parameters. RBA records everything that comes from hardware directly in the region and this is what you have at the moment.

You can. Display "Hypergraph" in the Arrange window or in the Score window. You may have to set it to the correct event types and numbers manually. Region automation is much older than track automation and the lines are not as comfortable to edit but you can add, delete and shift the events. Somtimes it is better to work with the events list in parallel because the graphic and the list view together give you better control.

There are menu functions which let you transform RBA to TBA and vice versa. But if a region contains, for example, CC102 and you transform that into track based automation, it has no meaning there because this event is not mapped to a plugin parameter. So the two automation modes are not fully interchangeable, just a few events work in both modes.

I think I might try mapping this parameter to the synths control knobs and re-recording.
Not sure what you mean. If you want to control hardware synth parameters you have to stick to region based autmation. You can map hardware knobs to plugin parameters via Controller Assignments but I think this is not what you want.
