Logic Pro midi mapping in Logic pro x

How can I set up midi instruments for external devices from Logic pro ?

Hi there, welcome to the LUG

-Connect your external Midi device to your Mac
-make sure the connection is working in Audio Midi Set Up
-Create a Midi Track in Logic Pro (if you are unsure about this, refer to the documentation as to how to do it)
-Assign it to the proper Midi port and channel corresponding to your external Midi device

Thanks i have it working sometimes but keep getting a flanging effect. and sometimes it doesnt recognise the drums
