Logic Pro 9 Moving a group of tracks (in samples)

Hey there,

So I am working on a Logic 9 project with many multitrack overdubs. But somewhere along the overdub recording process, recording delay began to occur. Unfortunately, I didn't notice until after we had captured all the recordings. On the bright side, all of the new recordings are offset by the same amount. Moreover, I noted the Recording Delay Compensation amount (via Preferences > Audio > Recording Delay) and I have now set it to the correct number of samples. Which means I now how many samples the offset recordings need to be adjusted by.

So my question is: how do I select the whole group of offset overdubs and move them by said number of samples so that they line up.

Thanks!

You may be able to accomplish what you need by selecting all regions involved and going to the region parameter window in the inspector. You'll see a delay setting. You can change it to milliseconds in the arrange view menu.

You'd have to to some math: x samples at sample rate of y is equal to z ms. Then add that value to the delay setting. Note negative values in the delay setting actually advance in time, which is what you want.

There may be a slicker way to do this - perhaps someone else will chime in.

Another option would be to set your nudge value to samples; select the regions to be moved, then option-right or left arrow click to nudge the regions in place.
