Logic Pro 9 Moving Garageband Guitar settings to Logic?

I have my favorite guitar setting that I created in Garageband. I have tried moving the exact setting into Logic, but I cannot get it to work. The sound is completely different and the effects and amps I created with the original are not reflected in Logic. Am I doing something wrong or is this not possible?

Have you tried just opening the GarageBand song up (with the guitar track you like) in Logic? I just opened up a GB file from my iPhone up in logic and everything seemed to translate nicely.

I can open the file and play the song, but I am wanting to save that specific guitar setting as a preset so I can use it on other songs. That is where I am having the problem. Thanks for the info and I will keep trying.

Open the Garageband song in Logic, then save the channel strip.

So, if you can open the GB file in Logic, and if the sound is correct, do as GW says and go to the channel strip settings menu and save it.
