A tip:
If, like me, you have lots of playback plug-ins with separate .caf files, you probably find that MS can take several minutes to launch.
If you don't use every patch in every gig or rehearsal you can cut down loading times by removing the .caf files you might not use next time from the playback plug in and saving before quitting MS.
e.g. If I know I'm only going to be rehearsing a couple of tracks on my next outing, I remove all the others and save the concert. This has a dramatic effect on loading times.
This also applies if you have to change core audio driver settings.
