Multi velocity sample set loading?

Is there any way to load single shot sample sets in .aiff apple loops format into either Ultrabeat or EXS 24 to build a drumset to program midi beats to match audio apple loops? I got a bunch of loops and multi velocity sample set from Beta Monkey but can't seem to figure out how to do this so I can incorporate both the loops and my own midi grooves with the same sounding drum kit.

Try this:

* In the EXS editor, load in all the samples for one velocity group. Logic will map them chromatically for you. Once loaded, create a group for them.

* Adjust the velocity range in the group parameters.

* Load in all the samples for the second velocity layer. Again, Logic will map them chromatically for you, but starting after the last note of the first set.

* Make a group for them. Adjust their velocity range. Shift them, along with their root note, so they go "on top" of the first set of samples.

* Repeat for each new velocity layer.

In order for this automatic chromatic mapping to work though, each sound should have the same number of velocity layers. Otherwise the mapping will be off, and you'll need to shift the odd zone here and there in order to match them up.

Ok sounds like what I want to do but please bear with me...still a noob. My first problem is that I don't even know how to load the samples...that was the point of my first question. And secondly I loaded the entire loop library into the loop browser of logic and it moved all the files from where I had originally copied them to off of the dvds...so I don't even know where to find the folders for the single shot samples anymore.

As far as loading the samples - read up in the plug in manual about the EXS 24. It's not that complicated to load in multiple samples and have the EXS 24 map them chromatically.

In terms of your loop library, you are prompted with a message when dragging loops onto the browser asking you wether you want to physically move the files, or just have them indexed in the loop browser nd remain where they are. If you did choose the copy/move option, they most likey went in to one of two places.
