dang, are you serious. super lame.
and my flex time seems to be really messin me up. i did some scratch stuff today, that brought up a couple snags.
first, i took 5 tracks from a dp session, so i could put some drums over top of this acoustic and vocal track. but couldn't import the files with a time stamp. i know the correct way of exporting with a time stamp in dp, i've done it many times. i even did a merge so it'd copy down the new time stamp. but with no luck, i wasn't able to import the files to a time stamp in logic. which is very odd imo. i figured logic was used to .sdII files. i even selected the tracks and clicked on "move to original recording position" (or what ever the actual wording is) and it didn't do anything, and in the event list, the files imported aren't showing the little time stamp icon. whats the word on time stamping?
and as for flex time, its not workin so hot, i seem to be plagued with horrible luck with flex time anything, even with my ptle7.4/8 setup, the flex time just hates me. i follow the directions, yet it just doesn't do what it says its supposed to.
this is what happens. i recorded kick, snare top and bottom, stereo ohs, and floor tom. have all the drums grouped, have the "q" on, select flex view, wait for it to analyze the drum tracks, (i chose rythmic flex alg). yet, it doesn't show the flex points, or allow me to add markers, it stays on the solid color of the tracks like i didn't even switch views. though if i would mess around just switch the flex alg to poly or something else, it'd show me the flex view, yet it'd totally mess up the song. and not by just a little, it would pretty much freak out and just move half the song one way and the other half the other way. it wouldn't even start at the same time, but if i turned the flex time off, the tracks would go back to their original state, like how they were.
click track sound is weak, i didn't like it one bit while doing test recording. it would irritate my ears when turned it up, yet was still hard to hear it clear enough when playing to.
oh, i had also messed around with the headphone panning. bad news for me, and prob everyone who needs panning in the headphone send, and sends in general. i changed all the pres/post options, and even messed with the channel panning, and i couldn't get any of the tracks to pan in the headphone mix. which is very very odd to me.
the more i learn and play with this, the more i dislike it.
also, how can i just delete something, for instance, a guitar has some buzz in between a pause/transition, do i just use the marquee too to select it then hit what? with dp, i'd just select what i want to delete and then hit comand "b".
is there a way to keep the "group" window up all the time, or sink/merge into a window. i'm not about to keep hiting three buttons everytime i need to bring up the group window.
a lot of questions i know. but i don't know why these are being such a pain to me.
