Logic Pro 9 New Hard Drive to run Logic

I am having lots of issues with logic freezing on me...I have changed the buffer size to 1024, frozen tracks, bussed tracks out to plug in effects.....still the dreaded 'logic cannot handle this...pops up' cpu maxing out the lot.

I've posted before and one suggestion was getting another hard drive to run logic. Could someone talk me through how I go about this, what to get...Do I need to uninstall logic and re-install it? I frankly haven't a clue what to do.

Thanks

I suspect the issue is Superior Drummer. 4gb isn't much ram and SD is a 32 bit plug-in. A bad combo.

Which drive are you talking about: A new system drive, or a new samples drive, or ?

OWC has a caddy device you can buy to add a second drive to a Mac Book Pro by removing the DVD drive, that would be the best option I can think of.

I guess the most important questions are: 1) is this your business or for fun? 2) either way, what is your max budget to resolve this issue?

I'm sure they meant another drive for you audio and/or samples, but to still run Logic (the actual application) from the system drive. That makes most sense to me.

Tell us more about what your current system is.

But also George is right, I think RAM is probably also an issue.
