...well, after months and months of deep reflexion 😉, I have decided to buy Logic. Actually I should say after years and years of Pro Tools and Digital Performer... I was more and more curious about Alchemy, the drummer, the slick UI, Pro Tools' relative stability, DP's bloated interface and difficulty to handle (very) large projects - are all among the factors that motivated my decision. I work in film music and keep hearing that Logic is not "ideal" for that type of work. I do electronic/EDM (I don't like that term) as well. Very often I need a large MIDI orchestra (I also have some Vienna libraries and EastWest's Composer Cloud, as well as "soon-to-be-upgraded to 11" NI's Komplete 9)... I know DP is often considered the weapon of choice for film scoring (mostly due to its unique chunks feature) but there are a number of annoying issues (which I won't enumerate here that's not the point) and I'm getting slowly but surely tired of it... I have to continue using Pro Tools but hopefully Logic is going to become my main DAW over time. Anyway, just wanted to say hi to the community, while hoping I made a wise decision with my purchase... 🙂
