Logic Pro New SpeedUp/SlowDown is fun

SpeedUp/SlowDown

Now instead of having only fade in / fade out, one can use speed-up/slowdown to imitate the effect of a vinyl slowdown (so pitch is altered as well)
Great new feature!
For a second I was thinking: what about a ralento effect (no pitch altered) and then used the global tempo changes and all my audio parts slowed down smoothly, that's probably the way to do it for this case 😉
edit: oops was there in L9 too, for some reason never noticed !

I find it hard though to control how much of the part is going to be played (as the global tempo does not slow down or speed up ; it seems to play only a fraction of the audio matching the same time slice as the fade time).

I hate to burst your bubble, but the speed fades have been there since Logic 9. Unless its another speed based feature that you are referring to?

see my edits, you must have read my thoughts, i guess not having L9 yet in my ML partition does not help in that case ...

Yep, the speed/fade was lots of fun in L9. Used it quite a lot to make audio tracks behave as if played from a pitch-bend-wheel-sampler-instrument.
