Logic Pro 9 New Take command?

Hello -

Why is there no "New Take" command for Take Folders?
There is a "New Comp" and "Duplicate Comp" but no command for "New Take", or "Duplicate Take"...
Is there a way to achieve the same result?

Yes, but I want to be able to manually add takes and duplicate takes, to edit them differently and make variations.

This is especially useful where one needs slightly different versions of the songs (dubs).

Personally, I just use "New Comp" and begin recording or editing.
Sorry I don't know any other way.

Workarounds and comments:

You can drag and drop any audio region into an existing take folder (drag mode should be set to overlap).

You can delete any take(s) from a take folder

You could record 2 passes of anything (including silence) to create a take folder and then add real tracks. Length will adjust to accommodate longest region. So record one bar - can't take too long.
