Logic Pro New to Logic and MIDI

so im new to logic and MIDI and i will probably have million questions if i cant find it on youtube or in another thread. so i wanted to mess around with the strings but whenever i hit two notes together they sustain long after i let go of the chords...i want to play a progression and this is annoying because each chord keeps playing over the last...what do i have to turn off/on? thank you!

If they are EXS 24 instruments (or any others for that matter), you might want to try lowering the release time in the ADSR section.

You can also switch the settings from Poly to Legato or Mono
