New ULN2 user - quickie

Hi Guys,

Just got delivery of a ULN2 2D Expanded and have a quick question whilst I drown myself in tutorial videos and guides...

I've connected the unit via firewire to my Mac, installed the MIO, drivers, plugs, and connected the monitor outs to my power amp, and I get sound!

Here's the question...

Whilst playing through iTunes or Logic, are the meters on the front of the ULN supposed to be lighting up (the input and output meters)? They are not currently on mine and would like to know if it is a routing problem or if this is normal behavior.

Thanks in advance,

A

Thanks

Thanks Allen.

Two more quickies (I'm lying!)...

I purchased this ULN 2d Expanded +DSP from a previous owner. I've registered it under my name at MH.

1) In the preferences MIO console menu, there is an item to Install Software license with an input for Install Code. Do I get this code from MH support, and/or is it necessary? I believe all of the plugs installed (for example I have the Bass Head plug), so is this verified via the hardware?

2) I previously bought the stand alone MH Channel strip, is it the same one that is included here with the ULN? Are there any benefits of owning both or should I go ahead and sell the stand alone?

Thanks again and sorry for the newbie questions, I'm knee deep in tutorial videos. Love the unit BTW, incredible upgrade to my MBox 2 pro - night and day!

That would be to install the +DSP license if your ULN-2 didn't have one. You're good to go.

The compressor sections are a bit different. I use both; MIOStrip for general use and ChannelStrip for when I need to automate the plug-in from my DAW.

Welcome aboard!

Awesome response time Allen, thanks.

Two new ones (told you I lied)...

1) In MIO Console(release 5.3.00.185) in the File Menu, the New is grayed out, and I cannot seem to get it to show.

2) Does the MIO Console have a setting that would automatically open it when Logic is opened?

TIA,

A

It doesn't do anything. To make a fresh mixer, you can:
1) Open one you previously saved
2) Open a template
3) Select "Clear Mixer Config" from the Mixer menu and manually build a new mixer
2) Does the MIO Console have a setting that would automatically open it when Logic is opened?
Insert a MIOConsoleConnect plug-in in your Logic autoload template.

My man! Thanks Allen I very much appreciate your time. If only all companies would have such responsive personnel the world would be a much better place.

I'm back with one more question...

Would there be any benefit for me to connect the optical out of my Mac to the ULN, or is it more or less the same (or better) for me to just use firewire, or maybe both connected for different uses? What about going in to the Mac?

TIA,

A
