Logic Pro 9 noob needs ESX sampler help

how do you make a note hold.

I recorded the keyboard note for note from my Korg O5 into logic. Then I chopped each note with space in-between. Then I did "audio>convert to sampler track"

my samples are like 2 seconds long. How do I make it so as long as I hold the key down, the sample keeps playing.

thanks.

The short answer is that you need to loop your samples.

Click on "edit" in the EXS (just to the right of the patch name window) and a new window will open up with all your sample zones listed. Click on the "View" menu and make sure "Loop" is checked. Now when you scroll to the right you'll see a column for "Loop." Make sure all the zones are checked under "On" and then you can start tailoring the loops. You'll have to scroll back to the left and double-click on each zone under "Name" one at a time to open the sample editor. For each sample you'll have to drag the endpoints of the lower (green) bar at the very bottom of the display until the loop is pleasing. TIP: if the loop sounds pretty good, but there's an annoying click in it, you can increase the number in the X-Fade column (again, to the right of the Loop column in the EXS editor) from 0 until the click disappears.

You might want to read a bit more about editing EXS patches in the manual to get more details about how this all works. Good luck!
