Logic Pro 9 Nudging region/MIDI events.

Thanks to everyone for all your help so far.

I'm trying to get my head around nudging regions/MIDI events. I'd like to avoid getting into assigning key commands if possible.

So far I've been using Alt-L or R arrow. Is there a way to change the nudge value quickly for this procedure? If so, this would take care of my nudging requirements for the time being.

TIA

Jay

Hi Jay,

You ask great questions 🙂 They're great because they have clear and obvious answers that fit Logic's workflow. You're on the right track, swimming with the current as it were, and not against it.

I do exactly what you are asking all the time for my main nudging needs. That is, use Option with the left/right arrows to nudge by the nudge value.

You can easily set the nudge value to whatever you need directly in the Tool bar. Make sure "nudge" is enabled in the customize toolbar window. You can then click hold on the nudge field to set the value you want from the drop down list of values. Or use the arrows at either end to increment/decrement the nudge values.

Hi Eli.

I had Googled myself silly and found convoluted solutions involving Key Commands (try inventing ones that haven't already been assigned!!). I found the alt-arrows thing intuitively but was in the dark regarding nudge values. This is utterly brilliant. Thank you so much.
