Logic Pro 8 Outboard Gear: Best Workflow?

Hello all...

I am wondering if anybody has a good workflow for using outboard gear for compression. I am new to using outboard gear in Logic 8.

For example: I have a guitar track that I'd like to bounce to a new track through outboard compression.

I am using a Tascam Fireone as my I/O.

Best is via the I/O plugin:

But the Fireone is a bit small for outboard work, you have only 2 out and 2 in. You have to change the cabling.

Software compressors are pretty good ...
