pitch midi converters

calling all persons who might have run across, " Midivox". I am desperately trying to make a dream come true and find a company's product that converts your voice to midi. There were two members talking about a converter. Any luck? Does anyone know of this company? Can I find one online. Any info at all please post...thanks
 
I have an IVL Pitchrider audio to MIDI converter. You might be lucky enough to pick up one of those.

It works reasonably well though prone to feedback in a live situation if the input is a mic. I used to use a pickup on my saxophone and could to reasonable saxophone/trumpet unisons by triggering the trumpet samples.

The lower the pitch the more delay as it needed one complete wave cycle to analyse the pitch.

EDIT: presumably you want this live, if not Logic will do quite a good job depending how accurately you sing.

Thanks I will look into that. Do you think I can use with voice to midi? who is the manufacturer?I want to use in class and the studio. Live I dont really care about. I am a vocalist and want to turn my voice into readable midi info to be picked up on my music program
 
Is the Audio to score function simular to the pitch midi converter?? and how does it work if I sing a note can I now score that note say as a bass guitar. or can my voice be converted to midi info that I can assign to an instrument if I wish

The Pitchrider converts audio to MIDI in real time, so there is a bit of a delay especially on low notes as it needs to analyse a couple of cycle of the wave form to know the pitch.

As I said above, if you don't need it live, then Logic (Audio to score) will do it. And the timing will be better as it's a process done after the recording.

Try it out, that's the best way to see how well it works. If you sing with a lot of vibrato, less than accurate intonation, bends etc then the conversion will be not so good.

Melodyne is better at recognising pitches of audio, especially if it not sang very cleanly or accurately.
