Logic Pro 8 Possible dumb question about potential duplicate files

This might be a stupid question, but you know "there are no stupid questions, only stupid people."

I'm trying to clean up my disk and get rid of stuff I don't need. I'm using a program called Disk Inventory X. It puts everything that's your drive in different colored blocks so you can identify what you need and don't need.

I have Logic 8 and Soundtrack Pro installed. On the Disk Inventory graph, I have to HUGE purple blocks that are both labeled "Apple Loops". They are both 26.8 GB in size. So I'm thinking somehow during installation the loops were installed twice.

So when I look at the paths of the two blocks they are different. One is /Users/(my name)/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/User Loops/...the it lists Apple Loops for Soundtrack Pro, Jam Pack Symphony, etc.

The other path is /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Apple Loops for Soundtrack, Jam Pack Symphony, etc.

The whole list of loops, after that isn't identical. One lists more files with specific grooves like 01 Hip Hop, 02 Electro House, etc.

The question is are these in fact duplicates of the same loops? Or is this just some kind of weird double listing, or two different paths to the same loops?

Hmmm, Logic 8.... taking me back, taking me back.......

OK, it may be possible that you have redundant files, but with different file extensions. That was maybe the era loops went from aif to caf. Maybe check your file extensions.

Thanks, I'll look. I like how it's as if we're talking about a whole different era like the files were archived from ruins, or built by druids.
