Logic Pro 9 Project Tempo Problems!!!

Hi people, so here's the deal. I inported a track into Logic Pro 9, used an external BPM counter to check it's tempo before I started laying down my artists vocals. The external BPM counter read 68 BPM, so I started laying down my vocals, but when I put on the metronome the music started drifting off the click. So, I inserted the BPM Counter plug in which read a BPM of about 125.1 beats per minute. The music immediatley played back in sync and tempo with the metronome but the vocals I recorded didnt have the same luck, the beginning played ok for the first couple bars but drifted off thereafter. Anyone know of a way for me to set the project tempo and have any recorded audio that was in the project before the tempo change to still play back in tempo with the metronome. Tried merging and bouncing the audio and re-importing it into the project but some of the audio tracks have punch points which are embedded in take folders. Any help anyone???

Try using flex editing. It's a long shot, but it may work.

Set your project to the original tempo the vocals were recorded at. Enable flex on that track. Probably use monophonic mode to analyze for transients.

Then, with flex still enabled on that track, switch your project tempo to the new tempo. The vocal track should play at the new tempo.

Good luck.
