Random iLok Troubles

hi there!

since a few days i have troubles reagarding logic pro and my ilok stick.

right now i just have antares plugins licensed on my stick (auto tune evo, sybil, harmony efx, articulator)!!!
all of a sudden i get those "try and quit" error messages/warnings, telling me that the plugins arent licensed, if i want to use them...

first: this doesnt happen all the time, sometimes it does work still
second: my stick and my licenses are recognized via ilok.com, so the stick seems to be working, i even bought a new one and moved my licenses onto, and the problem is still occuring...

right now i dont have any idea what could lead to this problem!? any ideas!?
please help!?

kind regards

May be an USB problem. If the iLok is on a hub, try it directly on the Mac. And don't use passive USB hubs, always active (with a power supply).

If you have several USB devices connected, another device may disturb the USB functions. I have two hubs and not all combinations of devices work on any of the two. Sometimes I have to exchange a couple of plugs and put them back the day after ...

hmm well, i tried other usb ports, active and passive as well.

and if i log on into ilok.com where i can manage my licenses, my stick, including licenses, are recognized without any troubles...

i did install the newest drivers several times, the plugins several times, i really dont know what could be the reason... it has to do something with logic...

kind regards...

Hmmm ... the fact that it works with iLok.com is not a clear indication because you said that it works with Logic as well, sometimes. I would not completely rule out an USB problem (I have many USB problems). You could try to synchronize with iLok.com several times right when you get the error message in Logic.

Could it have something to do with the 64 Bit mode?
There are some notes in the Antares FAQ.
"Antares software on 64 bit operating systems is not currently officially supported"

You said the iLok didn't work "all of a sudden". Could it be that you updated Logic before your iLok lost it's reliability? You may try to restore the previous Logic version from Time Machine or another backup to see if it behaves differently.

I have to admit to having an unusual "Mac" but I am also having issues since 7.2... my ilok 2 works with new licenses, bit not older V1 ilok stuff (like the antares stuff... Slate audio works fine)... strange.

Oh well, I have 3 Macs I can use for different things, but yes, there are some issues with ilok that I have never seen in the past that have only started in the last 2 months for me.

All Logic or also other software? If Logic only then "last 2 months" could point to Logic 9.1.6

Ok, then there is not much left, right? If the problem occures in several applications, if you both don't have the very same USB problem since two months and do not work with 2-month old iLoks then nothing has changed with one exception: OSX.
