Logic Pro 7 & earlier Record button won't ashow up for line in tracks using MacBook Pro

Hi All,

This is my first post here. I'm stumped as to what to do about this problem.

So I'm running Logic 7 with a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6

I can't seem to get the record button to show up for individual audio tracks. At least not when I am using the built in output as the core audio device.

However, I can record perfectly fine when I use a USB audio interface called 'iMic'.

I've checked my system preferences for audio, and it looks like I am getting a signal from the guitar I have plugged in.

It's a head scratcher for me, any help greatly appreciated!

You are sure your mac book pro HAS audio in? Some don't. What model is it (Look for the about this mac in the apple menu, it will have a specific model).
