Logic Pro Record rubato live and have sequence follow.

I wish to record a vocalist to a pre-recorded midi track. The vocal will speed up and slow down and I want to "conduct" the sequence to match his performance. Not the other way around. I have tried with tap tempo, tempo interpreter, manual tempo selected, but not successful. Is this possible? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you for your answer. From what I thought I understood, beat mapping is for mapping a non-tempo based sequence that you have previously recorded without a click. However, in this case I wish to have the sequence follow by possibly tapping the sequence to match a live performance. In other words, I want to have the pre-recorded parts stay in sync with a live vocal. But I will re-check beat mapping to see if I missed something. Thanks again.
